Ghanaian referee Daniel Laryea will officiate the Zamalek and AS Arta game in Cairo in the CAF Champions League.
The crucial match will be played on September 30th, 2023. This is not the first time the astute referee has officiated a top-class or crunch-decisive match.
The Ghanaian referee has previously officiated some top-class matches in the Africa Cup, World Cup qualifiers, Caf Championship, Video Assistant Referee (VAR), as well as top Ghana Premier League matches.

Ghanaian referees have come under serious scrutiny at some local matches as their manner of officiating has caused a lot of havoc in the local leagues.
Furthermore, Ghanaian referees have also been sidelined by CAF and FIFA to handle top-class matches or even participate in championship tournaments due to their poor officiating.
AS Arta dealt a surprising blow to Zamalek with a 2-0 victory in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup round of 32 last week.
