Evans Adotey, the Head Coach of Medeama SC has urged told supporters and their opponents particularly Young Africans not to write them off in the ongoing CAF Championship despite their failure to win their match against Young Africans.
Following a 1-1 draw at Baba Yara Stadium last Friday, Medeama split the points with the visiting team, putting them second in their group with four points from one win, one draw, and one loss.
Based on their performance, many doubt the possibility of impossible for Medeama defeating Yanga in the second leg.
However, Head Coach Adotey has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to steal win in the rematch at a post-match conference.
“We have a young squad with even third tier players, we wanted to win here to improve our position. Since that did not happen, we can go to Tanzania and beat them there. The Tanzanian squad have more experienced players but my boys fought hard against their quality. We can beat them in their backyard, don’t write us off” Coach Adotey stated.
Medeama will play their next CAF Champions League group stage game on Wednesday December 20 against Young Africans I’m Tanzania and Medeama will have all to play for.
