On the vibrant evening of March 30th, DPS International School came alive with rhythm, color, and boundless enthusiasm as it hosted its much-awaited annual Inter-House Music and Dance Competition. The event was a true celebration of creativity, collaboration, and the immense talent flourishing within the school community.
Students representing the four school houses—Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, and Topaz—put forth spirited performances that seamlessly blended music and dance across diverse genres. The program began at 5:30 p.m., with an auditorium brimming with excited parents and families, all eager to witness their children’s performances. From the opening act to the final bow, the audience was enthralled by captivating choreography, moving musical renditions, and the unfiltered passion radiating from the stage.
Gracing the occasion were distinguished guests, including the school’s Director, Mr. Mukesh V. Thakwani, and his wife, Mrs. Tanya Thakwani. Also in attendance were the Second Secretary to the High Commission of India, Mr. Sunil Kumar; Mrs. Afrakoma Ameyaw from the Office of the President; and Mr. Daniel Awah Darko, Executive Chairman of Vanguard Assurance.
Each house brought their unique flair to the stage—ranging from high-energy hip-hop routines and graceful classical dance sequences to dynamic reggae and musical symphony performances. Yet, it was Emerald House that stole the show with a breathtaking fusion of contemporary dance and live instrumental music, earning thunderous applause and admiration from the crowd.
The support from parents was overwhelming, as cheers and proud smiles lit up the venue. The event was more than a competition—it was a heartfelt gathering of the school community, showcasing unity, encouragement, and celebration of student talent.
Principal Dr. Seema V. Nair commended the students for their dedication and artistic excellence. Mrs. Afrakoma Ameyaw also took the stage to congratulate the participants and lauded the school for nurturing such platforms that empower students to shine beyond the classroom.
The evening concluded on a high note with a joyful prize distribution ceremony. Housemasters were invited on stage to receive awards and cash prizes, culminating in Emerald House being crowned the overall champions. Their triumphant moment was met with roaring cheers, marking a well-earned victory and a memorable end to an extraordinary night.
