The bankroller of Ashgold Sporting Club Dr. Kwaku Frimpong has with immediate effect parted ways with the Ghana Premier League side.

The astute businessman has stepped down as the bankroller of the Miners due to the interference of the supporters, Kyfilla.com understands.
Dr. Kwaku Frimpong affectionately called ‘Champion’ has decided to step down as the financier of the club with only fourteen matches in the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season.
The founder of the Champion Divine Clinic was handed the Ashgold Sporting Club job two seasons ago from Ashanti Goldfields to raise the standards of the team.

Speaking to Kumasi based Fox FM, Champion stated that, he cannot continue as the bankroller of the club anymore and with immediate effect has resigned.
“I thank everyone at Ashgold for the opportunity to lead the club. The fans should take their club now. I cannot continue to be president anymore and yesterday what the fans did, I say enough is enough. ” He told Fox FM on Thursday morning.
Currently, Ashgold Sporting Club after losing 0;1 to Bechem United at home, place 5th on the Ghana Premier League with 22 points after 14 matches.
