The Africa Regional Director of the Edinburgh’s International Awards Foundation, Mr. Edwin Kimani on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 paid a courtesy call on the deputy Youth and Sports Minister, Hon. Perry Curtis Okudzato and presented to the Ministry the lead donor recognition from the Head of State Award Scheme.
The lead donor recognition is to show appreciation to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for the key role it played in the successful organization of the 13th Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Forum 2018 hosted by the Head of State Award Scheme – Ghana.
According to Mr. Edwin Kimani, the Duke of Edinburg’s International Award is interested in ensuring that 500,000 young people are empowered and developed through various initiatives and programmes as advocated by the President H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the awards scheme.
In his remarks, Perry Okudzato mentioned that Ghana is always ready to partner and support the Duke of Edinburg’s International Award Foundation in programs that will improve the livelihood of the Ghanaian youth and thanked the Award Scheme for selecting Ghana as the host of a global event like the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Forum.
Present at the meeting was Ghana’s Ambassador to Egypt, Dr Winfred Nii Okai Hammond, Chief Executive officer of the National Youth Authority, Mr. Emmanuel Sin-nyet Asigri ,Chief Director of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr. Frank Quist, among several other dignitaries.
