The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has explained the widespread power outage on Monday, November 8, 2021.
According to ECG, this was as a result of system disturbance from upstream.[ads2]
A statement from ECG reads, “The Electricity Company of Ghana wishes to inform the general public especially it cherished customers that ECG experienced system disturbance from upstream on Monday, November 8, 2021 at 7:50PM.
“The technical challenge resulted in outages within ECG’s operational areas. Currently some customers within our operational areas are still off due to load limitations from GRIDCo.[ads3]
“ECG wishes to assure the general public especially affected customers that immediately our in-take points from GRIDCo are fully loaded, power will be restored.”
“ECG regret the inconvenience this system disturbance from upstream has caused our customers…”[ads5]
