Minister of Education, Honorable Matthew Owusu Prempeh has been discharged from the hospital after what the released put a positive rapid antibody test result.
Matthew Owusu Prempeh has been on the sickbed following contracting the deadly coronavirus. He was admitted at the University of Ghana Medical Center, Accra and has on July 8, 2020 been discharged from the medical center.
The Ministry of Education on July 8, issued a release captioned “Dr. Matthew O. Prempeh Discharged from the Hospital”.

The release again stated that “he’s currently at home resting and would like to thank all those who wished him well during his time in the hospital”.
Earlier on June 24, the medical doctor was said to have been in isolation at the University of Ghana Medical Center (UGMC) after a voluntary test, having had symptoms of coronavirus such as headache.
Public Relations Officer for the Education Ministry, Kwasi Obeng-Fosu is said to have confirmed the news on Onua TV.

According to his narration, the minister returned from his constituency after his acclamation as the New Patriotic Party parliamentary candidate for Manhyia South constituency and started experiencing headache.
Also, the president has self isolated following report of one of the people in his close circle testing positive.
Other news has it that senior minister, Yaw Osafo-Maafo has tested positive and also in isolation now.
The virus has taken the lives of STMA Mayor, Anthony Kobina Kurentsir Sam, Sir John formerly the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party.
