The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama heavily defeated President Akufo-Addo in the Volta Region presidential results.
The Volta Region remains a stronghold of the NDC and this time around Mr. Mahama ensured that the leading opposition party maintain their dominance in the region.[ads2]
Mr. Mahama pulled 606,508 votes to defeat President Akufo-Addo of the NPP who amassed 100,481.[ads3]
