The Ghana Police service has confirmed eighteen more suspects in relation to the nationwide looting and property damages.
Through a statement released the police confirmed the arrests.
Several chaos was recorded yesterday 8 December, 2024 when the EC opted to wait for the pink sheets from various collation centres after the NPP flag bearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia conceded defeat.
Both NDC supporters and other opposition parties were all looking up to the EC to confirm the pronouncement after Bawumia came out to accept the defeat. However, EC came out to say the results from the 16 regions were not out, this infuriated some youth and supporters to loot, burn and damage some EC offices and some shops.
This year’s election so far has recorded deaths and shootings. Areas such as Kasoa, Damango, Techiman and other areas recorded casualties, looting and death.
As it stands now, 30 people have been arrested so far by the Ghana Police service. Ghanaians are waiting for the EC to make the presidential declaration later today.
