Ghanaian winger Ernest Asante was on target for Al Jazira in their 5-4 win over Al Ahli Dubai in the United Arab Emirates league on Friday evening.
Defender Jaime Javier Ayoví Corozo scored first for the host just a minute into the game before the Ghanaian sprinter levelled Al-Ahli up in the 16th minute.
Vecchio and Jaime Ayoví, however, struck on the 19th and 21st minute respectively to restore Al-Ahli Dubai lead.
Al Jazira, never gave up and kept pushing for the equalizer and saw their effort-reward with striker Ali Ahmed Mabkhout’s double on the 40th and 43rd minute respectively before halftime.
Back from break, Ahmed Mabkhout completed his hat-trick on the night when he netted on the 50th minute give his side a 4-3 lead but Henrique canceled the visitors lead after converting a spot-kick on the 77th mark.
Emirati forward Sultan Al-Shamsi, amazingly scored three minutes to stoppage time to seal a 5-4 sweet victory for the away side Al Jazira.
Asante, 29, joined the UAE side Al- Jazira FC from Danish club FC Nordsjælland last month and has already proven to be a good addition to Marcel Keizer’s squad.
