Hon. Joe Ghartey has been declared winner of the Essikado-Ketan constituency parliamentary seat in the ongoing elections.
The incumbent MP defeated NDC’s Grace Ayensu Danquah to retain the seat for the fifth time.[ads2]
Joe Ghartey pulled 26,701 votes as against Grace Ayensu Danquah’s 24,527 votes with GUM Parliamentary candidate amassing just 535 votes.[ads3]
The Railway Minister had a keen competition from the NDC’s parliamentary candidate who is a first timer.
In all, 52,342 votes were casted at the 154 polling stations with 535 rejected ballots.[ads5]
