Faustina Ampah will be gearing up for her second campaign in UEFA’s flagship competition, the 2018-19 UEFA Women’s Champions League, after her Belarusian side, FC Minsk was drawn alongside Cypriot side Barcelona FA, Slovenian giants Olimpija Ljubiljana and Serbian League winners Slovan Bratislava.
FC Minsk was drawn in the same group again with their 2018 opponents Olimpija Ljubiljana. Minsk walloped the Slovenian side 5:0 when they last met.
The final will be held at the Groupama Arena in Budapest, Hungary. Lyon, winners of the tournament for the last three competitions will be defending their title.
Ampah is the first Ghanaian to have played in the round of 32 stage of the Champions League as at October, 2018.
The four clubs will converge at Czech Republic to narrow down on the two teams to make it to the round of 32. The competition kick-starts on August 7, to August 13, 2018.
FC Minsk will play Olimpija Ljubiljana on August 7, the Belarusian league leaders will then take on Slovan Bratislava on August 10 and wrap up the group against Barcelona FA on August 13.
