FC Samartex 1996 – a division one side in the Western region gets first trophy under their newly appointed head coach Bismark Kobby Mensah.
Bismark Kobby Mensah was appointed as head coach for the Samraboi based team on a two year deal fews days ago just after resigning from Ghana Premier League side Bechem United.
The team hosted a four team invitational football gala in Samraboi with teams like Karela United, Medeama SC and Achiken FC.
The competition ended on Sunday 2nd December with Samartex winning the giant trophy after beating in-form Karela United 9:8 on penalty shootouts.
This means coach Kobby Mensah has won his first trophy for the since being at the helm of affairs for the Samraboi based team.
The competition also ended with a massive attendance of 3,456 and the former Sekondi Hasaacas gaffer winning the overall best coach with Karela United sensation Ampem Dacosta winning the best player award.
The best goalkeeper award also went to Yaw Ansah of Medeama Sporting Club whereas Richard Gyamfi of Achiken FC won the young best player..
