Ghana forward Andre Ayew has paid tribute to former Club Swansea City, saying the football club “will forever be part” of him.
The 28-year-old joined Fenerbahce on a season-long loan deal after passing his medical in the capital city of Istanbul.
Ayew left Swansea City’s pre-season tour in Germany and Austria to complete a medical in Istanbul following talks.
In an emotional post on his official Twitter page @AyewAndre , the deputy Captain of the Black Stars said:
“Our work is like this, people come and go,”Ayew wrote on his social media page.
“In my life as a professional footballer there has been some clubs that will forever be part of me and Swansea i one of those cubs.
“With some clubs you barely feel the love and other you feel the love from birth and that is how I feel for Swansea.”
“I feel so sad for not being able to help keep the the team up last season but things are looking bright up there and I urge all fans to stick together and support the team,” he added.
“I wish my former team mates, the fans and the technical team there all the best.”
Ayew is thought to be among Swansea’s highest earners and his departure was expected following the club’s relegation from the Premier League.
