The Ghana Football Association has allocated 7,000 USD aside for Media Capacity Building from the FIFA and CAF Covid-19 Relief Funds.
The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association following a meeting held on Tuesday, July 14 has publicized various groups and membership under the GFA and how they are going to benefit from the awaiting funds.
Ghana Premier League clubs are to be given 15,000 USD from the funds, Division One League clubs and Women’s Premier League clubs are to earn 7,500 USD and 10,000 USD respectively.
Other supporting groups such as; Referees, VMOs, Match Commissioners, various RFAs, Regional Women’s Clubs and all national teams have had shares of the funds.

The GFA has set aside 7,000 USD to cater for the media in capacity building.
Explaining what it means by saying media capacity building a source close to the Ghana Football Association revealed – “We are not going to give the money to any group or individuals, neither are we going to invest the money to helping someone go to school. What we mean is that; there are going to be media seminars ahead of each season for sports journalists for the better and improved coverage of our product.

“So Yes, we will involve groups, but not as if it is for the group’s members to be trained. So this seminars, the 7,000 USD will take care of the food, transportation and I don’t even think it will be much for journalists coming in from the Northern and Southern sectors.
The GFA has set out August 15 and August 27 as dates for the opening of registration and the 26th Extra Ordinary Congress respectively.
