Ghana has dropped out of the top 60 countries in the most recent FIFA rankings after a poor 2026 World Cup qualifiers campaign.
After losing their last game the Black Stars, who were before ranked 60th in the world, have dropped to 61st position.
They battled to victory against Madagascar at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi to start their World Cup qualifying campaign, but things went south when they lost to Comoros by a close 1-0 margin in the Moroni Stadium.
This defeat proved expensive for Ghana because it not only hurt their chances of making it to the World Cup but also caused their FIFA rating to drop.
However, the Black Stars have maintained their position in Africa with regards to the FIFA rankings. Ghana is still 11th in Africa, with the top 10 teams on the continent remaining unchanged.
The Black Stars have a huge test ahead at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Ivory Coast from January 13 to February 11, 2024, as they attempt to overcome their recent setbacks.
