A final-year student of Sekondi College (SECKO) has drowned at the Essel Beach in Sekondi, Western Region.
Reports say the tragic incident occurred on Monday, May 1, 2023 when he went swimming at Essel Beach alongside his four other friends from same institution.
Whiles swimming, the three friends realised the victim was struggling and being dragged deeper into the sea by the strong tides, prompting them to call for help.
When rescue arrived, it was too late for the victim, who was no longer visible in the water.
