The family whose house caught fire at Anaji, a suburb of Sekondi Takoradi on Thursday 4 October 2018, have received relief items from the National Disaster Management Organization of the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly. The organization provided mattresses, mosquito nets, cooking oil, rice and many other items to the family.

Properties worth thousands of Ghana cedis was lost to the fire. The two bedroom apartment was razed down by the fire. No casualties were however recorded.
An occupant in the house and mother of four children, Dorcas Arthur narrating the incident to Skyy News, said she felt encouraged and blessed to have been saved from such a calamity. She was also thankful for the support given her and the family by NADMO.
Acting Director of NADMO at the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly, James Obeng said the organization has been very responsive to the needs of the family. He noted preliminary investigations have overruled the use of any LPG as a cause to the fire.
Mr Obeng entreated residents to be conscious about fire safety, adding installation of smoke detectors and fire extinguishers must be primary to every household, office space and other public places.
