The first ever What’s app platform club in Ghana ”Sports Center Welfare Club” has been inaugurated in the Western region capital Sekondi/Takoradi in a colorful ceremony.
The event which was held at Amaja Hotel in Takoradi on last Saturday 7th April,2018 was attended by huge personalities across the region.
”Sports Center Welfare Club” the first of it kind, is aim at helping members of the group in terms of need and also to educate young growing sports men and women on the benefit of sports.
The club goes by the motto ‘Our sports, our concern’ and a simple slogan ‘ Do sports and live well’
At the inauguration, some interim executive committee members were elected to steer the affairs of the club.Mr. Yaw Sekyere, who is the accountant of the Regional Sports Directorates in Western region was elected as chairman of the club with Madam Florence Agyeiwaa, Queen Mother in Tarkwa,as his vice and other members which includes Mr.Kwadwo Asare,secretary for the club,Nana Kwame Apenteng as Financial Secretary and William Yensu Quansah as the Organizer.
However, some notable members of the club are Stephen Kwame Yeboah, Head of Sports for Sekondi based Radio Silver and Jacob Wemegah, member of the Western regional Football Association.
