Former Black Stars of Ghana and Asante Kotoko striker Opoku Afriyie has reportedly died in Kumasi.
Opoku Afriyie is said to have died in Kumasi on Sunday, March 29, 2020 at age 75.
The cause of his demise remains unknown as at now.

Opoku Afriyie played for Asante Kotoko for several years before joining Hearts of Oak prior to the end of his footballing career.
He was the topscorer of the Ghana Premier League in 1979 and 1981 and was nominated for French Magazine France Football African Footballer of the Year in 1982 where he placed 8th.

Opoku Afriyie was part of the Ghana squad that won the 1978 AFCON, making Ghana first country to win the competition thrice then and even scored two goals in the finals.
He also played in the 1980 AFCON where Ghana failed to defend the tournament.
Opoku Afriyie also served as the Team Manager for both Asante Kotoko and the Black Stars of Ghana.
