Former Management Member of Ghana Premier Club Accra Hearts of oak , Abdul Aziz Haruna Futa, has been elected as the National Nassara Coordinator of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in elections held at the Koforidua Technical University as part of the 2018 Annual National Delegates Conference of the party.
Aziz, as he is affectionately called, polled 201 votes to beat 13 other contestants in elections held at the Koforidua Technical University as part of the 2018 Annual National Delegates’ Conference of the party.
His closest contender was Ahmed Zaruk Nuhu, who polled 123 votes.
Aziz Haruna has been known as leader of Hearts of Oak’s Chapter O and also a former Management member of the Phobians
threw himself into the race for National Nasara Coordinator after Kamal-Deen Abdulai decided to abdicate his post and vie for the National Youth Organiser position.
Surprisingly, 14 members including Aziz Haruna filed to fill Kamal-Deen’s position.
And it went well for the football fanatic.
Out of the total votes cast, only five were rejected.
Aside Alhaji Nuhu coming close, Alhaji Baba Gado Mohammed polled 82 votes to be third.
Alhaji Salihu Yahay Bo came fourth with 39 points while Alhaji Rashid Adam followed with 23 points.
Alhaji Musah Sheriff polled 19 votes to follow in sixth place.
Alhaji Aminu Abu had 12 votes to follow with Abubakari Sulemana amassing eight votes to come eighth.
Other contenders were Alhaji Iddrisu Abdulai Dipantiche (4), Kazeem Ibrahim (1), Abdul-Rahman Diallo (1) and Alhaji Dauda Abdul Rahman Duodu (0).
