Its some few hours for the premiere of the much anticipated video from the famous Ghanaian undercover investigative journalist Anas Aremeyew Anas.
The video dubbed ‘Number 12’ is made to believe that it captures corrupt practices in Ghana football and politics.
However, referees are not spared in the expose’ with some names already fingered out in the video.
But retired referee F.K Mensah has rallied his support for the video to be shown saying he is not surprised about the list already trending in the media since he was expecting it.
According to the Referees Appointment Committee Chairman for the Western Regional Football Association, some center referees takes bribe from club administrators to influence matches without telling their subordinate and he has even been under such situation before.
“I fully support the Anas video. It’s sad that at times some center referees take bribe without telling the rest their subordinate, It has even happened to me before when one of us took bribe from someone without telling us in 1993.I was even expecting some other referees to have been included but am not surprised about the list at all”, he said.
However, the retired referee F.K Mensah commented on the list of referees reported to have been captured in the yet-to-be premiered expose’ and hinted that he has confidence in referee Cecil Fletcher who was among the list.
“I won’t believe it unless I find him in the video, he’s a man of integrity and he will never accept bribe from anyone to influence a game but he’s human and cannot be trusted completely” he added.
The video will be premiered on Wednesday 6th June, 2018 at the Accra International Conference Center whereas some Ghanaians are hoping that the video will cause a shakeup in the country.
