Former vice President of the defunct Ghana Football Association, George Afriyie says he support Kotoko to represent Ghana in the 2018-19 CAF inter-club competition.
Kotoko will participate in the CAF Confederation Cup even though football activities in the country has been put on hold.
However, George Afriyie believes Asante Kotoko are financially sound and therefore ready to compete in the 2018-19 season of the CAF Confederation Cup.
“I totally support Kotoko to go to Africa because they’re financially sound”, he said.
“Even clubs who’s countries are at war always push in Africa competitions.
The Porcupine Warriors first prelims game in the Confederation Cup has been cancelled after the Cameroon Football Federation failed to present a second team in the Confederation Cup who were supposed to meet Kotoko and therefore have gotten a walk over to the next round.
Coach C.K Akunnor’ side will now face the winner of Arta Solar 7 from Djibouti and Kariobangi Sharks from Kenya in the next round of the competition.
