Former Asante Kotoko defender George Asare has re-joined the club as coach of the new Youth Team as he pens a five-year deal with on Thursday.

The former Porcupine Warriors player-turned Youth Development Coach will formerly be overseeing the youth set up alongside his former teammate, Richard Manu, who also penned a 5-year-deal with on Wednesday.
He was part of the coaching staff who began the reformation of the side which was disbanded two years ago.
The former utility defender and his team of coaches started with a justify-your-inclusion exercise that scouted for talented footballers for the U-15 and U-19 sides.
George Asare and Richard Manu have since been holding training sessions for the selected players following the completion of the 5-day justifier.
The contract signing was done at the club secretariate thus formalises George Asare’s time at the Youth Team.

Asare played for the Kotoko between 2007 and 2011 and was part of the 2008 squad that broke the ten-year-long wait for a Premier League title.
Upon his retirement, George Asare took up a player-coach role at non-league side, Ghana Soccer Academy in Illinois-Chicago before heading to Truman College in the same capacity.
