The approval, communicated through the Chief Director of the Ministry of Education, is part of an interim measure to enhance the feeding situation in these schools.
According to a letter dated 22 December, 2024, the disbursement of funds will be based on student enrollment and the approved cost of feeding per student per day. Day students will receive Seven Cedis Fifty Pesewas (₵7.50), while boarding students are allocated Three Cedis (₵3.00) daily. Schools are instructed to utilize these funds to purchase necessary food items locally.
For day schools, the letter suggests engaging private caterers to provide a Hot Meal at the approved rate. Regional Directors are tasked with ensuring that this information reaches all Heads of public Senior High, Senior High Technical, and STEM Schools, emphasizing compliance with procurement and financial management regulations.
