The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced a one-week break for all its football related competitions in December.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the GFA said the decision was made to allow participants to exercise their civic responsibility during the national General Elections scheduled for December 7, 2024.
The Ghana Premier League, Access Bank Division One League, Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League, and all other competitions will pause after this weekend’s matches.
This includes the MTN FA Cup Round of 64 games and Matchday 6 fixtures of the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.
Football will resume the following weekend, beginning Friday, December 13, 2024. The GFA clarified that clubs and match officials were already informed of the halt in the league fixtures, and this notice serves as a reminder.
The general election is set to be held on Saturday 7th December, 2024.
