Black Queens and former Sekondi Hasaacas Ladies midfielder Lily Niber Lawrence has called on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Corporate Bodies to support women’s football in Ghana.
According to the 22-year old who currently plays for Spanish club Extramendura UD, it hard time that a policy should be made for female players especially those in the Women’s Premier League to get on pay-roll just like what other countries are doing.
“I expect the GFA and the Companies to come to our aid. We are ladies and need to take good care of ourselves. We should be on a pay-roll just like what some other countries are doing. I believe Ghana has the talent and with a little push we will get to the top”, she told Kyfilla.com.

The former Sekondi Hasaacas Ladies midfielder also shared her opinion on whether the 2019/20 league season in Ghana should be cancelled and whether playing the remaining matches behind closed doors will be a good idea.
She said, “Playing the women’s league behind closed doors, I don’t think it’s advisable because in this difficult times I don’t see any parents allowing their daughters to come and play football. I don’t think it’s possible.”
