The GFA Foundation is set to provide support to individuals affected by the Akosombo and Kpong Dam spills with a sum of GHS100,000.00.
The GFA Foundation is the investment and sustainability management framework which performs the Football Association’s charitable projects, programs, and corporate social responsibility activities and the people affected by the Dam spillage are set to benefit from this program.
Following an assessment of the situation, the Regional Football Association has been on the ground with some help. The GFA’s assistance efforts have also been coordinated by the Volta Regional Football Association, which has been submitting daily reports and updates to the Accra headquarters.
The assistance will be given to Association clubs and communities impacted by the spillage. The money will be used to buy food products including;rice, gari, sugar, and sachet water, toiletries, and student beds, among other relief supplies, which will then be given to victims in the areas that have been severely affected.
This humanitarian act was authorized and overseen by the Ghana Football Association’s Executive Council and the GFA Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
