Following the savage attack on Female Referee Abdul Rahman Sakina Nasara by Coach Iddrisu Suheiru Napari, (aka Coach Kubli) in a Womens Division 1B League match played at Game Centre 3 in Tamale, the Northern Regional Football Association, the Ghana Football Association in collaboration with the Ghana Police are seriously pursuing the Coach Iddrisu S. Napari to effect his arrest and prosecute him.
The match which was played on Saturday June 17, 2023 ended abruptly in the 38th minute following the pitch invasion and subsequent assault of the referee by the the Coach of Tiyumbu Ladies who has gone into hiding after his disgraceful and unwarranted action.
The Association wishes to inform all stakeholders and well wishes that after series of scans and medical support at the Tamale Teaching Hospital the referee is now in stable condition at the Tamale Technical University Hospital.
The Northern Regional Crime Officer has visited the victim at the hospital and spoken to a number of people in line with his investigations.
Coach Iddrisu S. Napari is however still at large whilst frantic efforts are underway to apprehend him.
Police, GFA, NRFA seek public support and information of his hideout to arrest the coach who has vacated his home since the incident happened on Saturday.
The Police has given assurance of a firm commitment to not rest until he is arrested.
The Northern Regional Chairman, who was at her hospital, expressed his gratitude to the RFA Secretary, Referees Manager, Mr. Alhassan.A. Alhassan and Northern Region Referees Association (RAG) who immediately took the injured referee to receive medical care.
On the Sporting, the NRFA will issue appropriate football Charges to Coach Napari and his club for their responses and for the Disciplinary Committee to adjudicate the case.
The Association wishes to assure all stakeholders and the public that there is no room violence in football and that both the Criminal justice system and the Sporting judicial system will come hard against those who commit violence in football.
The President of the GFA, General Secretary and Executive Council members have all been in contact with the Northern Region Regional Chairman and Secretary on this matter to ensure that the best medical care is given to our referee since yesterday.
