The National Sports Authority after a thorough vetting of prospective sportsmen and women to receive the Youth Employment Agency monthly allowances have made public that 886 athletes have successfully gone through the process.
The successful applicants cut across Para Sports, Able Sports and Female Footballers who were in the higher number, all amassing to 886 applicants.
The 886 successful applicants will be receiving GHS 500.00 as monthly stipends for the next 6 months.
The GFA provided 443 successful applicants, Able Sports had 348 and Disabled Sports contributing 95 athletes.

Those who are beneficiaries of various forms of stipends, salaries and allowances from the government are ineligible for this program.
According to the statement signed by Charles Obeng Amofah, the Public Relations Officer of the National Sports Authority, the package was meant for 1,000 athletes and applications were received by 1,551 athletes with some not even turning up for the vetting.
“The Package is meant for 1,000 athletes. In all 1,551 athletes applied for the allowance and went through the vetting process conducted by the National Sports Authority. 886 athletes have been cleared to qualify as beneficiaries” – the statement.

The list of 886 has been submitted to the Youth Employment Agency as at August 7, 2020 for payment to begin.
There are still those who are going through the process to complete the process as required.
