The Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif has disclosed that the Ghana FA has been directed by government to maintain the Black Stars technical team for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The technical team led by Borussia Dortmund’s Otto Addo as the head coach managed to qualify Ghana to the World Cup after a one-all stalemate against Nigeria in the final playoff round of the qualifiers.
The technical team was made up of Aston Villa U-19 coach George Boateng and Mas-ud Didi Dramani of Nordsjaelland with Chris Hughton serving as Technical Advisor.

“The decision by the Ministry is that the GFA should maintain the Technical team that qualified Ghana for the World Cup and the GFA is working very closely with the Technical team to come out with the arrangement,” Ussif said as quoted by Footballghana.
He indicated that very soon the Ghana FA will announce Otto Addo as the permanent Black Stars head coach for the two upcoming tournaments.
“Very soon, they (GFA) will announce officially when the head coach Otto Addo will be maintained to take us through the World Cup participation and also the AFCON next year in Ivory Coast.
“Inshallah, when we qualify.”
Otto Addo has become the second Ghanaian to qualify the Black Stars to the World Cup as head coach after James Kwasi Appiah.
