The Ghana Amputee Team have touched down at the Kotoka International Airport after winning the African Amputee Football Cup of Nations in Tanzania.
The Black Challengers landed in Accra on Wednesday morning and were met on arrival by a Ghanaian Delegation from the Youth and Sports Ministry, National Sports Authority and Ghana Paralympic Committee.[ads2]
The Ghana Amputee Team (Black Challengers) spanked Liberia in the final game of the tournament to win the African Amputee Football Cup of Nations in Tanzania
But after winning the tournament, the Black Challengers were unable to return to Ghana due to financial difficulties, and were left stranded in Tanzania.[ads3]
The Youth and Sports Ministry, after a video of the team stranded in Tanzania surfaced the internet, quickly offered to facilitate the return of the team to Ghana.
The Ministry, in an earlier statement said that the Amputee Team failed to inform the sports ministry about their participation in the games thus reason why the team were left stranded.
After touching down in Ghana, the Amputee Team will present the AFCON trophy to the President of the republic, Nana Addo at the Flagstaff House and the Youth and Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif in Accra.[ads5]
