The Ghana Bloggers Association has launched a national training program, with its first stop being the metropolis of Accra, with the aim of raising blogging standards and encouraging responsible citizenship in advance of the December elections.
Speaking to an audience full of passion and commitment, Ghana Bloggers Association President Andre Mustapha NII Okai Inusah established a significant precedent for the future of responsible reporting.
Amidst the overwhelming excitement surrounding the December 2024 elections, the President underscored how crucial it is to prioritize Ghana’s wellbeing in all blogging endeavors.
President Andre Mustapha NII Okai Inusah stated, “As bloggers, we wield significant influence in shaping public opinion and discourse,” highlighting the critical role that ethical reporting plays in fostering informed citizenship. This training program’s launch marks a significant turning point in the association’s calendar—it marks the beginning of the rigorous planning for the next elections on December 7.
The President stressed the need to extend this training initiative to regional levels in order to ensure that Ghanaian bloggers are equipped with appropriate instruments and knowledge for their ethical reporting.
The President emphasized the association’s steadfast commitment to maintaining blogging integrity as the training came to an end and exhorted other bloggers to embrace their responsibility as truth and accountability stewards.”Let us strive to improve the quality of online conversation and contribute significantly to the progress of our dear Ghana,” he said in closing. This was to give the bloggers a strong sense of direction and give them the confidence to carry out their civic responsibilities honestly and diligently.
