The draw for the 2023 U-23 Cup of Nations (AFCON) has been held today, May 5, 2023 with Ghana drawing the host nation, Morocco.
The Black Meteors were drawn in group A alongside counterparts from Morocco, Congo and Guinea.
The championship solely for players below the age of 23 will be held in Morocco from Saturday, June 24 to Saturday, July 8, 2023.
The other group had Egypt, Mali, Gabon and Nigeria.
The championship will serve as ticket to the 2024 Olympic Games to be held in Paris.
The top three teams from the competition will qualify to the Olympics, while the 4th-placed team will play against a team from Asia in a playoffs to decide the final slot at the Olympics.
With Ghana seeking for a second time at the Olympic Games, the Black Meteors will have exhibit an impeccable performance to seal a qualification.
