Owner of struggling Women’s Premier League side, Ladystrikers, Christian Mensah has revealed the essence of continuing the league rather than truncating the half played 2019–2020 season.
Talk of nullifying the suspended 2019–2020 season has flooded the media space in recent discussions and the veteran women’s league administrator has probably shared the most genuine concern.

Ladystrikers are currently struggling to beat the drop languishing at the 5th position with 7 points after 7 games.
Christian Mensah spoke on Spice FM about the growing concerns on how players are coping in the heat of the lockdown and coronavirus pandemic and whether or not the season should be annulled.
“We haven’t had any pregnancy case at Ladystrikers, the financial support for women’s footballers is nothing to speak of, most of the club owners run the clubs from their pocket and in seasons like this it’s highly difficult to pay the players fully. Not having money can push someone to do a lot of awful things.

“For the first time women’s football are doing so well and getting the needed attention. It’s better to continue the season rather than throwing the investment away – if care is not taken most of the administrators will lose interest in pushing the club because it’s for benevolent sake most of the owners are doing football.
“It’s better to complete a season that we know, than to start a new season entirely – my club is battling relegation, that I could have gone for truncating the league entirely, but I think football will benefit more if we continue the season rather than truncate it” – owner of Ladystrikers Christian Mensah.on Spice FM.
