The Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has rebuffed earlier reports that Ghana has received Covid-19 cure from Madagascar.
It was earlier making rounds in the local media that, the Ghanaian government has received a herbal cure for the novel Coronavirus developed in Madagascar.

Speaking at a media briefing at the Information Ministry on Thursday, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah explained that, Madagascar has reached out to Ghana with the Covid-19 cure but they have not made available to the Ghanaian government.
He stated emphatically that, when the supposed Covid-19 cure is made available to Ghana, it will undergo testing before using.
“I want to correct what’s making rounds in the media that Ghana has received a Covid-19 cure from Madagascar.

“The fact is, they [Madagascar] have reached out to us with the Covid-19 cure but it will undergo testing at the FDA when made available to us . So we [Ghana] have not received any Covid-19 cure from Madagascar”, he said.
He added that, there are local herbalists who have reached to the government with medicines claiming to be Covid-19 cure but all those will undergo testing before approval.
Meanwhile, Ghana has currently recorded 6269 cases of the pandemic with 1898 recoveries and 31 deaths.
