The Ghana Rugby national teams, Black Eagles and Eaglets have presented trophies won at the just ended Rugby Africa Sevens Championship held in the country.
Ghana hosted seven other West African countries for the Rugby Africa Sevens Championship at the Paa Joe Stadium in Kumasi on November 27-28, 2021.
The tournament was to serve as route for countries to book their places in the final qualifying round in April next year, and Ghana eventually emerged winners of both male and female categories of the tournament.[ads4]
Countries like Mali, Benin, Niger, Côte d’Ivoire, Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso and Togo participated in the tournament.
The Ghana Rugby national teams presented the trophies won at the tournament to the management of Interplast to express their heart felt gratitude to the leadership for their consistent support to the growth of rugby in the country.
Interplast has been supporting the Ghana Rugby union since 2014.
During the trophy presentation, the management of Interplast donated an undisclosed amount to the teams.
The Chief Executive Officer of Interplast Ghana, Haysam Fakhry charged the teams to continue soaring higher.
The President and Board Chairman of Ghana Rugby Union, Herbert Mensah said that the support by Mr Fakhry and Interplast helped Ghana Rugby to amass a series of memorable achievements since his administration took over in June of 2014.
Meanwhile, both Ghana and Burkina Faso men’s team have secured a qualification to the final round of the world cup qualifiers alongside the Ghana’s female team.
