The Youth & Sports Minister Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah has assured that, Ghana will soon get a new Olympic-size Stadium.
According to the sector minister, the Olympic-size Stadium will help in hosting the 2023 All African Games.

He indicated that, the government has begun vigorous preparations towards the successful host of the upcoming All African Games competition.
Highlighting some of the government’s preparations, Mr. Asiamah mentioned that the renovation of various stadia remains a priority of the government because some of them have been earmarked to host the competition, so therefore funds have been made available for the renovation of both the Baba Yara and Sekondi Sports Stadiums.

He made these known when he inspected the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi last Monday to have first-hand information about the current state of the stadium ahead of the upcoming Independence Day Celebration.

Meanwhile, the 2023 All African Games will be the 13th edition and will be hosted by Ghana after beating off competition from Nigeria and Burkina Faso to win the bid.
The 2023 All African Games will serve as qualifiers for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France.
