It was all fireworks at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium as Ghanaian duo Nicholas Gyan and James Kotei interestingly fired Simba Sporting Club to a sounding 3:0 win over Algerian side JS Saoura today.
Meddie Kagere’s brace together with Emmanuel Okwi’s 45 plus additional two minutes kick in the first half ensured that Simba SC run away 3:0 winners.
Nicholas Gyan who has been converted to the right-back position by coach Patrick Aussems lasted the entire ninety minutes with awesome performance which prevented Saoura from doing the cut in from the left wing.
On the other hand, James Kotei who has been termed the ‘King of incissive passes’ was all over in the midfield of the cagey encounter which also prevented Saoura from pushing forward to get an away goal.
The duo together were delight to watch in the first group game of the CAF Champions League as they played key role in Simba SC 3:0 win at home over JS Saoura in Tanzania.
Simba are currently top of the group D table after the 3:0 victory even but AS Vita Club and Al Ahly who are in the same group with the Tanzanian giant are yet to play with their clash scheduled for 7:00PM this evening.
