Ghana defender Alexander Djiku has been named in the French Ligue 1 team of the week after match week five this season.[ads2]
The 28-year old was a phenomenal in FC Strasbourg game against Nantes on last Wednesday which ended in a one-all stalemate.
He played the entire duration of the game which had enabled him to be part of the best eleven players in the French ligue 1 this week.[ads3]
Djiku has been widely reported to be on the wanted list of some clubs in the major European leagues following his outstanding form for FC Strasbourg.
He has been heavily linked to Spanish laliga outfit FC Sevilla as well as Leeds United and Southampton in the English Premier League.[ads4]
Djiku was close to joining TSG Hoffenheim in the German Bundesliga months ago but the deal broke down at the final stage.
He currently has a year left on his contract with FC Strasbourg and might leave the club as a free agent next season should Strasbourg fail to sell him in the ongoing transfer window.[ads5]
