Ghana’s Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu has been elected to serve on the Executive Board of the World Health Organization (WHO).
Mr. Agyeman-Manu is amongst all the seven Africans elected to serve on the 34-member Executive Board of the World Health Organization.
The Executive Board is made up of 34 persons who are technically qualified in the area of health, each designated by their Member State to serve on the Board for three-year terms.

The Executive Board meet twice in calendar year with their main meeting usually in January whilst the second shorter meeting in May, immediately after the Health Assembly.
The duties of the Executive Board are to give effect to the decisions and policies of the Health Assembly, to advise it and generally to facilitate its work.
The Executive Board of the World Health Organization is currently chaired by Dr Harsh Vardhan of India.
