[ads2]Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) scholarship beneficiaries in Cohorts 1, 2 and 3 at the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) have jointly donated educational supplies and furniture to the Kantro AME Zion Basic school in the Sunyani West Municipality of the Bono Region as their contribution to enhancing the quality of teaching and learning.[ads2]
The students presented 2 bookshelves, 2 desktop computers, 11 Teachers Tables and chairs and 20 school uniforms sewed by Herbert Appiah Kubi; a Cohort 2 beneficiary studying Electrical Engineering. Other items were 500 exercise books and a solar maintenance equipment.

President of the GNPC Scholarship Cohort at UENR, Seidu Lukumani, said they were challenged positively by GNPC’s CSR outlook that seeks to provide relief and impact positively on communities and people to also support the school which was in dire need of these items.
Receiving the items on behalf of the school, the Municipal Director of Education, Mr. Issah Baffoe thanked the students for showing exemplary leadership with their initiative and encouraged them to work hard as their education, among other things, prepares them to manage Ghana in future.
He assured that the items would be put to their intended use and under proper care.
GNPC Scholarship Coordinator in charge of UENR, Mr. Gameli Amengor, said the GNPC Foundation is glad to have started this initiative to inculcate a sense of responsibility, dedication, and service amongst its scholars who he described as ambassadors of GNPC Ghana.
