The Omanhene of Upper Dixcove Traditional area, Obrempong Hima Dekyi XIV has received a sum of GHS 50000 from GNPC to support his foundation.
The foundation which was launched on last Saturday 1st September, 2018 is aimed at improving healthcare and education in the community as well as promoting tourism.
As part of its social responsibilities, the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, GNPC donated the amount to support the Hima Dekyi Foundation.
The donation was made by the Executive Director of GNPC Foundation, Dr. Kwame Baah Nuako during a grand durbar of this years’ Upper Dixcove Kundum festival which was under the theme “ Dixcove Nkoso” {Development in Dixcove}.
Meanwhile, personalities such as Lawyer Kojo Kum, the Member of Parliament for Ahanta West and others donated to the foundation.
The Hima Dekyi Foundation has Kwabena Amofah as the Executive Director, Ellis Simon as the secretary, Samuel Kojo Brace of Skyy Power FM as the Public Relations Officer and Miss Helena Eshun as the representative of the Upper Dixcove Youth Association.
