Wholly owned Ghanaian airline company, GoldStar Air donated personal protective equipment to the management of Ebenezer Senior High School.
The donation was to help in the celebration of the school’s 14th speech and prize-giving day at the school premises in Dansoman, a suburb in Accra on the theme: “Educational Excellence: The Role of Stakeholders.”
Mr. Edwin Lamptey, a member of the cabin crew, and the airline’s Executive Assistant Edmund Lamptey presented the items, which were received by Madam Anastasia Afua Konadu, the headmistress of the school, and the program’s Chairman Prof. Dr Nii Odartei Mills.[ads2]
They expressed heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to Goldstar Air for the kind gesture reflecting their generosity and promised the airline personnel that the things would be used for the pupils’ advantage.
The school main gate was named after Lawyer Ellis Owusu Fordour during the 14th Speech and Prize Giving Day at Ebenezer Senior High School (He was the Commissioner of Education during the Acheampong Regime when the New site was acquired).
Mrs. Nancy Thompson, the school’s first female Headmistress, was honored
with the naming of the school assembly hall. Ing.[ads1]
Professor Nii Odartei Mills chaired the programme. The guest speaker was His
Excellency Joe Ayikoi Otoo, and the PA chairman, Elder Romeo Nketsiah, was a special guest speaker.
Headmistress Annestina Konadu, Mr.
Birch Vincent Freeman, the Board Chairman, Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Ahia Clottey, and other dignitaries were in attendance.
About Ebenezer SHS
Robert Teiko Aryee founded Ebenezer Senior High School as a private school on the Gold Coast of Ghana on April 22, 1941. He started the school in a room in Ayalolo, Accra, where he also lived, with only six students.
The school was relocated to Korle Gonno in
1952, and then to Mamprobi. R.T. Aryee and his nephew E.K.A. Otoo (father of Ayikoi Otoo) ran the school as headmaster and assistant
headmaster until it became government assisted and C.E.A.
Martinson was appointed as headmaster in 1956. The school became a senior secondary school in 1981 as a result of a change in Ghana Education Service policy. The school is a semiautonomous secondary educational institution that is run largely by
a school Board of Governors (BOG), Parent-Teacher Association
(PTA), and Old Students’ Association (OSA).
At the 5th Ghana Renewable Energy Fair & National Energy Symposium in Accra, the
school won first place in the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Project competition. It was organized by the Ministry of Energy and the Petroleum and Energy Commission.
Meanwhile, Goldstar Air plans to launch in 2022, will initially fly to twelve destinations from Accra, including London, Baltimore Washington International Airport, Dubai, Providence International Airport,
Guangzhou, Dakar, Lagos, Monrovia, Abidjan, Freetown, Banjul, Conakry, and pending cities Atlanta-Georgia, Chicago-Illinois,
Glasgow-Scotland, and Houston-Texas.
Goldstar Air is projecting a
fleet of more than 100 modern aircraft to a network of more than 90 key business and leisure destinations in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, the Caribbean, and North America.
The wholly owned Ghanaian airline has been conferred Most Promising Airline company at the Quality Service Awards which was
held at Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra and the Global Stewardship Network, the organizers of the Global Stewardship Awards in the
United Kingdom, South Africa, and Ghana, presented The Most Inspiring Aviation Personality Award to Mr. Eric Bannerman,
Executive Chairman and CEO of the airline, at the Airline’s Head Office in Accra, Ghana.
A citation was also presented to the Executive Chairman of Goldstar Air in recognition of his outstanding loyalty and dedication towards
humanity. The honour recognizes his commitment and dedication towards humanity and to responsibilities entrusted to him.
The Citation further reads that “We carry in our hearts the uniqueness of your service and may the almighty God strengthen,
increase you in wisdom and build you in stature and also thank him for his great contribution, we appreciate you very much.
The airline’s excellent work is progressively being acknowledged, which is yet another milestone for Goldstar Air and a tribute to the airline’s strategic aim to capitalize on its local and worldwide exposure and presence for a smooth takeoff.
