Goldstar Air, a wholly indigenous Ghanaian airline is excepting two Boeing 777s and two Boeing 737s in the country soon to enable the airline complete its paper work with the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority and commence operations concurrently with the resumption of passenger air operations all around the world.

According to the airline’s chief executive officer, Eric Bannerman, once the aircraft arrive it will use them for demonstration flight to bring all stranded Ghanaians in some of the gulf state home through a collaboration with Ibon World (a non-governmental organization) and
the Ghanaian authorities to assist in the evacuation.

Although the partial closure of the borders worldwide has caused a great financial loss to players in the aviation sector, Goldstar Air has a rare opportunity to penetrate the market, ensuring it becomes a significant player in the aviation space and makes Ghana the aviation hub in West Africa.

“As a wholly owned Ghanaian airline, we are taking into account a broader national interest and we have made it clear that our desired outcome is to establish a viable, sustainable airline which will project Ghana as well as make Ghanaian’s proud” asserted the airline’s CEO.
Goldstar Air aims to inject rapid growth into the West African tourism market which is currently under-serviced.
As Ghanaian registered Company, we plan to utilize the country’s
status as the “Gateway to West Africa” to develop the West Africa market by introducing scheduled flights from all the ECOWAS member states” said Eric Bannerman.

“The airline will initially be flying to twelve destinations worldwide from Accra, namely London, Dubai, Guangzhou, Washington Baltimore International, Lagos, Abidjan, Monrovia, Freetown, Banjul, Conakry, Providence International, Dakar, and pending cities, Atlanta Georgia, Chicago-Illinois, Columbus-Ohio and Houston-Texas.
