Ghanaian duo Nicholas Gyan and James Kotei were in blistering form last Sunday for their team Simba SC as they defeated rivals Young Africans “Yanga” 1:0 in the “Kariakoo Derby” at the National Stadium in Daresalam ,
The victory meant Simba SC had maintain their lead on the Tanzanian league log with 59 points and 4 matches to end the season.
The only goal in the game was scored by centre back Erasto Nyoni in the 37th minute of the first half through a free kick by Shiza Kithuya after the home team have dominated play from the blast of the whistle.
Ghanaian midfield dynamo James Kotei ,who joined the “Kariako Msimbasi ” based club two seasons ago played the full duration of the game with some defensive splitting passes to aid his side for an important victory against their bitterest rivals.
Former Ebusua Dwarfs Captain Nicholas Gyan also played 82 minute before he was substituted for Paul Bukaba by head coach Pierre Lechantre.
Simba SC hopes to maintain their lead at the top of the table with four matches to end the season with a 10 point gap between them and the second team placed team Azam FC.
Nicholas Gyan and James Kotei ,will be key figures for the Kariako – Msimbazi based club in their quest to improve their performance in next year’s CAF Champions League after they failed to progress to the group stage this season.

They were three Ghanians in the game all playing for Simba sports club, but you have only written about two of them. James Kotei, Nicholaus Gyan and Asante Kwasi. The later was fouled for Yanga’s Hassan Kessy’s second yellow card and subsequently sent off in the 48 minute.
