Prince Tagoe has revealed Asamoah Gyan wasn’t fully fit ahead of the 2010 World Cup round of 16 clash against the United State of America.
The Black Stars took the rest of the world by surprise to make its first quarter finals finish in the FIFA World Cup.
The team had reached the second round(round of 16) of the 2006 World Cup hosted in Germany with wins against Czech Republic and USA.

Heading to the 2010 World Cup, the Black Stars led by Serbian Manager, Milovan Rajevac went a step further to the next stage of the 2010 world cup.
Asamoah Gyan who prior to the game has powered in two goals in the first and second group games against Serbia and Australia to claim 4 points.
Gyan who’ll head on to play for Sunderland in the Premier League, according to Prince Tagoe revealed the attacker was not at his full strength and even missed the team’s morning breakfast.
He took his goal tally to 3 goals in the competition by scoring the winner to give Ghana a 2-1 win against USA.

“He wasn’t fit, he had missed the breakfast session, but was able to come for the lunch. There he said he can play so most of us were thinking he will last for the first half and perhaps will be changed in the second half.
“So, when he scored that goal in the extra time everyone was happy. Gyan did very well” – Prince Tagoe told Maxx TV’s Yaw Ampofo Ankrah.
The team lost the quarter finals stage game against Uruguay on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
