Sekondi Hasaacas Ladies nailed Elmina based Sea Lions 2:1 on Monday afternoon at the Gyandu Park, Sekondi.
Goals from Evelyn Badu and skipper Perpetual Agyekum ensured that Hasmal Ladies secured the three maximum points to boost confidence ahead of the next game of the Normalization Committee’ Special Competition semi-final first leg.
Evelyn Baidoo tabbed in the opener from Perpetual Agyekum’s sublime free-kick that flied straight at the goal post to bring the home side ahead of their opponent in the cagey encounter.
Elizabeth Owusuwa restored parity for the Elmina based side through a miscommunication between the Hasaacas shot-stopper and her defender.
As if all hope was lost, center referee Juliet Appiah pointed to the spot after Hasmal Ladies center-back Janet Egyir was brought down in the eighteen yard box. Captain Perpetual Agyekum slotted in perfectly to bring the side back to the lead.
Hasmal Ladies ended the game as 2:1 winners and will travel to Elmina on Thursday, 11th April, 2019 for the return leg of the semi-finals.
