Hearts of Oak tactician, David Ocloo has admitted that his club’s ambition of winning this season’s Ghana Premier League title is over.
This comes after the Phobians were trounced 5:1 by Medeama SC in matchday 31 of the Ghana Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, May 21, 2023.
Hearts of Oak were dominated and outplayed by the Yellow and Mauves despite playing at home.
“We defended very poorly in both halves, we allowed a lot of spaces which Medeama used to punish us. It’s very embrassing result but comgrats to Medeama”, Ocloo told StarTimes.
Asked whether Hearts of Oak hope of winning the league is shattered after the heavy defeat, David Ocloo said “Yeah, yeah, it is over. We play now to get a respectable position”
After smashing Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium, Medeama SC have moved to the summit of the league table with 53 points while Aduana Stars sit second with 52 points.
Medeama SC will continue their quest to win the league title for the first time when they host relegation-threatened side King Faisal at the Akoon Park in Tarkwa on Sunday, May 28, 2023.
Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak are 7th on the league standings with 45 points, 8 points behind new leaders Medeama.
