Former Board Chairman of Asante Kotoko Herbert Mensah is not considering a return to the club soon.
Herbert Mensah was appointed to lead the Ghana Premier League heavyweight from 1999-2003.
He set out to restore the success of the earlier glories of the then failing club by implementing a five-year plan, which included sponsorships, the introduction of professional training facilities, and a transparent financial approach to the books.

In 2003, he left Kotoko and later became involved in running a rival club in the Ashanti Region, Ashgold Sporting Club.
But the astute businessman who is currently the Board Chairman and President of Ghana Rugby is not considering a return to the club as the future of the current administration of the club is not certained.
He however, stated that if the life patron of the 2004 CAF Confederation Cup finalist, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II call him to lead the club again, he won’t hesitate.

“There is only one person who can order me and that is Otumfuo. Over the years, I consider myself the luckiest of all Chairmen of Kotoko, but I still have an extra ordinary relationship with Otumfuo Osei Tutu ll, we agreed generally not to talk about football, relationship is far better than the pressure of having to come to handle the club.
“I will beg him [Otumfuo] not to, if he is to go ahead, after all I was announced as Chairman of Asante Kotoko without my Consultation with myself, if Otumfuo Osei Tutu ll of whom am even closer is to do that, I will have no choice, I prayed he does not”, Mr. Mensah told Juliet Bawuah of TV3.
